FRCDN Staff

Fort Rouge Co-op Day Nursery has a diverse group of Early Childhood Educators, and Child Care Assistants working together to help our programs thrive. Everyone brings something different to the table; different cultural backgrounds, education, languages, and talents. Our unified passion for the early years allows us to create a strong team who provides a warm, loving, nurturing environment for your children to grow and flourish.

Susan Moscovitch – ECE III, Executive Director

I am a mom of two grown children and I have been working in the childcare sector for over 30 years. My experience includes special needs training, Home Family Childcare, Director of Montessori Academy, and my last position prior to becoming director of FRCDN was working as a childcare coordinator in the Seven Oaks Community.

My passion is to advocate for quality childcare. My goal is to create a community where staff, children and families work together to create a warm, safe, friendly environment which promotes community.

Mandeep Chaddha – ECE III, Preschool Site Supervisor

I immigrated from India in 2003 and started working at FRCDN in 2004. I graduated from Punjab Agricultural University in 1998 with a Masters in Child Development. Since then, I have worked in the field in various capacities and gained extensive knowledge and experience.

My passion is to ensure each child has a voice, and to support the team to ensure everyone is feeling supported.

Eufemia Mendoza – ECE II

I immigrated from the Philippines and came to Winnipeg in 2005.  I have my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and have many years of experience teaching a variety of grade levels, but I always found the early years to be the most rewarding. In Winnipeg, I received my ECE II diploma through the IEQ program offered by the government of MB.

My passion is teaching, and I enjoy implementing science experiments where I can, watching the children’s eye open in wonder and excitement is what bring me joy.

JR Olson – ECE II

Family is my number one priority and as a proud papa of two children, I can understand the struggle families are faced with every day trying to find quality childcare.

I am Native American, and I grew up dancing in pow-wows.  I attended Gladstone school from K- Grade 4 and love that I am now working in the community I was raised.

I am proud to be able to support Indigenous programming at both our preschool and school- age sites.

Teresa Corraya – CCA

I joined the FRCDN team in November 2017.  Back home in Bangladesh, I worked as a kindergarten teacher for two years.  My family and I immigrated to Canada in July 2016, and have volunteered at Gladstone School, as well as FCC daycare.  I am eager to learn and currently exploring opportunities to receive my ECE II.

I completed my kinder music training and have implemented kinder music program for the toddlers and preschool children.

Zen Rio Quinsaat – ECE ll- Pedagogical Leader

After 10 years in the architecture industry, I transitioned into the Early Childhood Education field because I have always loved teaching, motivating, and inspiring young minds. I have been working at FRCDN since 2018 and completed my ECE II diploma in 2023 at Red River Polytechnic. I also facilitate workshops about language, literacy, positive relationships, and representation at the Manitoba Child Care Association.

My passion is creating meaningful programming that promotes children’s overall development in a holistic way. I focus on S.T.E.A.M. activities and incorporate an anti-biased cultural component as well. I value representation and love creating environments and activities that engage and nurture the natural curiosity of children of all ages and abilities. I believe that listening to what children are passionate about and providing opportunities to enrich this passion is key to unlocking their full potential.

Sydney DeBrouwere – AMS Montessori- School-age Supervisor

Hi, my name is Sydney and I’ve been working in childcare since 2014.  I’ve lived in Winnipeg my whole life and am the middle child in a family with 2 brothers.  I originally wanted to work in the justice system and was in school for that, but worked at a daycare as a summer job and I was hooked!  I have been working on and off with children ever since.

I love collaborating with the school- age children to ensure our programming is meeting them where they are.

Cheyenne Hunter – CCA- Inclusion Leader

I have been working as a Child Care Assistant at the FRCDN since 2018.
I was born in Winnipeg and have lived in the Fort Rouge area since childhood. Growing up here, I have a strong sense of community and enjoy volunteering in my free time. Helping out in my son’s classroom at Gladstone School is what encouraged me to pursue a career in working with children.

As the inclusion leader I ensure that all children are able to participate in our daily activities in a purposeful way. I also ensure all staff are trained on current program plans, and work with our outside professionals to ensure goals set out are being met and adapted.

Anna Marquez – CCA

I am married with three kids. I like to cook and make handcrafts. I was a midwife in the Philippines, but when I came to work in Canada in 2012, I started working in child care. I like working in the child care field because I like being around children and nurturing them.

I have been able to bring my talents to the school- age program by implementing different clubs, such as, sewing, and crocheting.

Raquel Schioler- MACTE Montessori

I am a Montessori teacher and have always thrived in supporting early learning development. I have worked with children in some capacity since I was 15 years old- it felt like the right decision to follow my passion for children and make this my career. The best part about working with children is the laughter and joy they bring to my day-to-day life. Watching the children’s excitement over the little things in life help ground me and teach me kindness, patience and gratitude.

As a Montessorian, I know the importance of children developing their literacy and numeracy skills. I will work at implementing this through individual lessons, small group lessons and free play during indoor and outdoor experiences.

Talia Green- CCA IT

Hi! My name is Talia and I am currently working part-time while going to Red River Polytech to receive my ECE II. I have always had a passion for working with children and decided I should make Early Childhood Education my career. Every time I interact with a child, I find they teach me something new or open my eyes to looking at the world in a new way.

Amanatjeet Kaur- ECE II

Hi, my name is Amanatjeet (Ammy) and I am an ECE II. I am from India and moved to Canada in 2023. I am the oldest of my 4 siblings. Being the oldest child in my family I always had an attachment to younger children, so I decided to try the childcare field and loved it!
The best part about working with children is that each day is different. Getting to see how the children see the world adds a new view to life.
When I was a child, I loved playing outdoors with my friends and cousins. Climbing trees and playing in the mud were my favourite activities.
